, deputies stopped a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD pickup in the 2000 block of Silverado Trail south of Deer Park Road, Sgt. When a deputy approached the truck's open driver-side door, the driver, 34-year-old Adam Baughman of Weaverville, initially closed and locked the door and refused to give any information, claiming to be a "sovereign citizen" not subject to local,... Deputies eventually unlocked the pickup and found that Baughman had no driver's license, only an Oregon identity card, Crawford said. A search of the vehicle revealed 11 pounds of suspected marijuana and 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, along with $15,000 cash, a scale and suspected drug sale records, according to Crawford. Deputies also found a set of brass knuckles as well as ammunition that Baughman, as a convicted felon, was not allowed to have, Crawford said. Allegations against Baughman included possessing and transporting methamphetamine with intent to sell, marijuana possession for sale, ammunition possession by a felon, and illegal weapon possession. Kleinschmidt, who has no listed address, was detained for investigation of possessing and transporting marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to sell. Source: napavalleyregister.com

DECATUR — Wendy Morse of Mount Zion hadn't pulled a vehicle competitively before Saturday during the Central Illinois Strongman Classic Competition. She said tugging a Chevrolet Silverado pickup felt pretty easy after the initial challenge of getting started with it. The competition held at DMH Health Specifics in the Specific Performance Enhancement Center gym and parking lot was lots of fun... The pickup was one of two vehicles in addition to a Humvee the athletes were pulling 50 feet during the harness truck pull portion of the competition. The event was a national qualifier for the first time, said Mike Stewart, manager of the wellness center. The top three competitors in each weight class go on to compete at the North American Strongman National Championships in June, Stewart said. The national qualifying status brought increased interest from competitors, with 15 more participating from last year, Stewart said. It was an opportunity to show off what is offered at the gym, which he said has all the apparatus need for a Strongman competition, which showcases the strength of professional and amateur athletes. A Douglas County jury has convicted an Alabama of murder for running over and killing a Douglasville grandmother in a strange traffic encounter last year. Dewey Calhoun Green, 24, of Birmingham, was found guilty Friday of malice murder in the June 2014 death of Janice Pitts, 53, on Ga. Highway 5 near Interstate 20, according to news reports. Man Accused of Running Over Douglasville Grandmother Green was accused of running over Pitts for no apparent reason. He allegedly rammed into Pitts’ vehicle several times, pinned her against her vehicle and then backed over her. Douglasville Police said at the time that the incident occurred around 2:15 p. m. Wednesday, June 25, between the Walgreen’s and Waffle House on Highway 5, involving a red Lincoln Navigator driven by Pitts and a black Chevrolet Silverado driven by... According to media reports after the incident, Pitts was on her way to a Lowe’s nearby and was turning left from Highway 5 onto Douglas Boulevard when Green rear-ended her car three times, backing up before the second and third collisions. Police said when Pitts got out to check damage, Green pinned her between the two cars, then backed over her. Source: patch.com
