The all-new 2015 Cadillac Escalade, the king of large SUVs, has taken a bow with its completely redesigned platform. If there ever was an SUV that has captivated so many with its stature and luxury, it is the Cadillac Escalade. With its complete redesign for 2015, the Escalade embarks on a journey to retain its king of the hill status when it comes to having your cake and eating it, too, in the largest and most luxurious SUV you can find on the road today. However, I cannot help but drive the test vehicles that we receive each week around town, attempting to ignore the images that some of the test vehicles project. Sometimes, that image speaks louder than words, as it does in the all-new 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV, which projects a massively sized image, an ego that equals the mass of the Escalade’s front grill in gold. There really is no way to get around the prominent image that the all-new Cadillac Escalade projects, especially with the ESV variation, which is the long-wheel-base version that matches the size of its Chevrolet Suburban cousin. Last year, we gave you a hint at how Escalade’s complete redesign would change the world. After spending a week with a new ESV with the Premium package, we are even more convinced. The ESV is their largest offering. The ESV model, being longer, has the added length in the second row doors. Climbing inside, we were shocked that this SUV was from GM. In the past, it was hard to tell the interiors of the Yukon, Escalade and Suburban apart- save for nicer leather and climate control. Now, Cadillac seems to have free reign to craft its own interpretation of luxury. Second row seating is heated and the rear seats are power folding. Each row of seats has its own roof mounted screen with headphones and DVD capability. Equipped with the Premium package, the only options our test model lacked were the center console fridge and massaging driver’s seat. The Escalade has the same 460 lb-ft of torque, but.
