The Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan looks like a very interesting rival for the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG. Thats' why the Italians are also planning to update the existing hatchback models, the ones that have been on sale for many years. This next rendering isn't what it looks like, but we like it more. The MiTo always looked like a car for people who drink Frappuccinos, but now it's dynamic and vicious - less Cosmopolitan and more FHM. What Fiat bosses have planned will look like the second rending in the gallery below, which comes from French magazine ABC Moteur. The updates include a new grille and subtly refreshed front bumper. We think there's nothing wrong with the way the MiTo currently looks. The Italians styled it well, but this 3-door model dates back to 2008. There are more fundamental problems with the car, like the interior, which is a dreadful mix of shiny silver plastic and parts from the Punto. Increasingly small mills have been adapted to fit the smallest Alfa Romeo, such as the 0. 9-liter TwinAir 105 HP petrol or the 1. 3-liter JTDM-2 85 HP diesel. Source: www.autoevolution.com

A car has got to be pretty spectacular to win over the curmudgeons here at 1585 Eisenhower Place, especially when familiarity sets in over the course of 40,000 miles. For less than $70,000, the M3 bolts from a standstill to 60 mph in 4. 3 seconds and turns the quarter-mile in 12. 7 seconds at 113 mph. It pulls an exceptional 0. 96 g on the skidpad, stops in 147 feet from 70 mph, and reaches a governor-restricted 161 mph. A bonus is that regular service doesn’t cost a cent, thanks to BMW’s full-maintenance program, which lasts for four years or 50,000 miles. (The gas bill, however, wasn’t cause to rejoice, given this BMW’s 17-mpg thirst. When it came to ordering the car, we went with the so-called M double-clutch transmission ( M DCT ), a $2700 option that replaces the standard six-speed manual with a seven-speed dual-clutch unit, BMW’s first. We were eager to try this setup because dual-clutch transmissions promise the smoothness of an automatic when the driver can’t be bothered to change gears, as well as superfast paddle shifts in manual mode. While Audi’s B7 RS4 was a great package that took the fight directly to the then E90 BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz brought its own salvo in the form of the C63 AMG. The latter was essentially a hot-rod muscle car cloaked in an executive suit and could easily pass for anything other than the high-performance, tyre-shredding muscle car that it was. Let’s face it, 336kW and 600Nm in a compact sports saloon is nothing to be sneezed at today, let alone back in 2008 when it was launched locally. However, the current M3 is the one to beat in the segment, and having driven the new AMG C63 at its international launch in Portugal earlier this year, I deemed it to be an everyday, useable performance saloon. For starters, the new C63 is somewhat of an incognito car and unless you know how to spot the subtle differences, you will be hard-pressed to tell it apart from a more mundane C-Class with an AMG package. Slightly longer than the regular C-Class due to the increased bonnet length to be able to shoehorn in that lusty 4. 0l biturbo V8 from the AMG GT, the model has a few visual venom elements to display its pecking order. At the front is an AMG specific grille, replete with an AMG insignia, then you have the longitudinal bonnet ridges, the V8 biturbo lettering on the flanks and quad exhausts at the rear.
