BMW M3-Sondermodelle: Das sind die heißen und teuren M3-Ikonen - auto motor und sport

Ein Fünfgangsportgetriebe leitete die Power über ein Differential mit 25 Prozent Sperrwirkung an die Hinterachse. Ab 1989 erhöhte BMW die Leistung des M3 auf 215 PS, die Höchstgeschwindigkeit stieg auf 240 km/h. Neue Nockenwellen, Kolben, ein leichteres Schwungrad, eine neu programmierte Motorelektronik (für Einspritzung und Zündung) sowie eine höhere Verdichtung (11:1 statt 10,5:1) ließen die Leistung des Vierzylinders auf 220 PS bei 6. 650/min und 245... Für sein auf 501 Exemplare limitiertes Sondermodell, das bis zu 243 km/h schnell war, verlangte BMW 69. 900 DM statt der üblichen 59. 800 DM für die Basisversion. Auf die Nebenscheinwerfer in der Stoßstange mussten die Käufer des BMW M3 Evolution verzichten. BMW nutzte die Aussparungen, um die Bremsen besser zu kühlen. Weitere Unterscheidungsmerkmale: das opulentere Spoilerwerk und der weiß lackierte Steuergehäusedeckel sowie der Luftsammler mit den BMW-Motorsportstreifen. Trotzdem gab BMW wie beim "Normalo"-M3 ein Gewicht von 1. 200 Kilogramm an. sport auto stellte den Evo in der Ausgabe Nr. 2 / Februar 1989 selbst auf die Waage. Der BMW M3 war einer der erfolgreichsten Renntourenwagen aller Zeiten. Den Anfang machte das Sondermodell BMW M3 Europameister, mit dem der Hersteller an den Titel in der Tourenwagen-Europameisterschaft von Roberto Ravaglia aus dem Jahr 1988 erinnerte.
