Aside from ‘GT’ badges, the latest Aston is identified by black painted splitter and diffuser, revised headlight and tail light treatments and new ten-spoke 20-inch alloys. Bei Aston Martin herrscht Renovierungsbedarf, denn Kunden in diesem Segment verlangen nicht nur Spitzentechnologie unter der Haube, sondern auch modernste Elektronik (Infotainment, Vernetzung, Navigation, Fahrerassistenz) im Cockpit. Die Produktion ist zu teuer, die Angebotspalette zu klein. Aston Martin spricht von Neuausrichtung. "Wir schauen in eine aufregende Zukunft, die weit bis in die nächste Dekade reicht", sagt Vorstandschef Dr. Andy Palmer. Der Grund für den Optimismus: Die Briten erhielten kürzlich eine Finanzspritze von über 300 Millionen Euro. Der Betrag stammt von den Hauptanteilseignern Investindustrial (ein italienischer Privat Equity Fund) und Tejara Capital. "Bis 2020 werden wir jedes bestehende Modell ersetzt haben und zusätzlich drei neue auf den Markt bringen", prognostiziert Palmer. Elektrische Variante des Rapid denkbar Eines davon zeigte Aston Martin bereits als Studie im März in Genf, den DBX, ein Cross-over aus SUV und Sportwagen.
