Donec eu sit amet quam egestas semper. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air GMonster Despite the enduring appeal of Chevy Tri 5s, Bodie Stroud had never worked on one before a friend hit him up to restore a 1957 Bel Air. It started "as a total piece of junk," said Stroud, who relied on his own affection for pre-1970 American metal and a childhood spent riding shotgun in his dad's 1957 Chevy, where he marveled at the chrome and its larger-than-life dash. "It was just a rust bucket," Stroud said of the donor vehicle he would transform into the GMonster for an O. C. client. Under that hood is the stacked fuel injection requested by the client and clinging to its exterior, the blue and silver paint job inspired by nail polish, as requested by the customer's wife. The GMonster may be the first '57 Chevy Stroud has built, but it probably won't be his last. That’s why Bodie Stroud Industries is re-manufacturing a 60-year-old model, making production customs of tried-and-true 1956 Ford F-100 pickups, for which bodies and parts are still readily available.
