A high-speed chase by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office netted a stolen car and multiple felony charges against four Orangeburg teenagers. Around 5:30 p. m. Thursday, a carload of Orangeburg teenagers attempted to avoid a safety checkpoint at the intersection of Shillings Bridge Road and Lake Edisto Road, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release. After the teenagers in the stolen vehicle led deputies in a high-speed chase, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle and the teens fled on foot, the release said. ODPS investigators said the teens were in a 2001 Nissan Maxima that was reported stolen from a Hillcrest Avenue residence on May 19. Investigators believe Green and Mack also stole a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, valued at $32,000, from the Laurel Hill... The Sheriff’s Office said the Toyota Tacoma was recovered in Lexington County.
