Pull power - Yorkton This Week (press release)

Despite a muggy evening, the Yorkton Exhibition Truck and Tractor Pulls were packed with people both Friday and Saturday. Contenders this year included “Goin’ Towin’” driven by Grant Braun, a lime green, four wheel drive 1979 Ford F-100 with a 528 Ford engine and 900 horsepower that was able to pull the weight sled over 200 feet. Another great pull was by Tom Christensen driving “Plum Crazy”, a four wheel drive 1947 GMC with a 638 CU IN, Chev Merlin engine and 1200 horsepower. “Passin Time”, the last contender in the modified truck class, is a 1966 Ford F-100 with a 528 Ford engine and 1050 horsepower. It was able to pull up to 207 feet. In the smaller weight class, the first turbocharged mini to be built in Saskatchewan pulled its way through the course, “Frank-N-Stein”, driven by Karl Getz.
