Accused Moose Jaw escapee back in court - Regina Leader-Post

The 20-year-old Moose Jaw man charged with escaping from that city's provincial court Tuesday was back before a judge Wednesday. Jamie Munroe was accompanied by a city police officer during his latest appearance at Moose Jaw. He continues to face charges that were before the court Tuesday, stemming from a weekend incident in which the vehicle he allegedly stole crashed head-on into another vehicle near 15 Wing Moose Jaw. His charges from that incident include dangerous driving, evading police and operating a vehicle causing bodily harm, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, being in possession of a stolen 2009 Dodge Avenger and two counts of driving while... The Moose Jaw Police Service is making changes to security at the courthouse after Munroe allegedly assaulted his guard, obtained the keys for the cell door and made his escape. The search for Munroe lasted nearly nine hours and included the RCMP, Highway Transport officers and Canadian Pacific Railway police, as well as help from the public who phoned in sightings.
