The Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office has filed criminal charges against a Summerland woman for allegedly keeping her three-year old son from his father and taking him out of Santa Barbara County. The DA's Office says Faith Merritt, 31, was supposed to exchange custody of the child, Maxwell DiNardo, with the boy's father in late July. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says, prior to her disappearance, Merritt said she planned to move to Oregon and live on a commune. Merritt is associated with a blue/gray 2005 Honda Odyssey with a CA license plate of 5NTP596.
