Unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, Nissan says it represents not just a new design, but a new class of truck. That’s because the top-of-the-line Titan XD Nissan chose to roll out in Detroit is supposed to split the difference between a conventional half-ton truck and heavier-duty three-quarter and one-ton pickups. To fulfill that mission, the XD gets a 5. 0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. Diesel engines are standard fare in heavy-duty trucks, but the only half-ton diesel currently available is the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, which has a smaller 3. 0-liter V6. Nissan... It features sequential turbocharging, with a small turbo that can spool up quickly at low speeds, and big turbo for extra power, to eliminate lag. Of course, the other side of the diesel coin is fuel economy, and the numbers on that aren’t in yet. Nissan will only say that the Cummins diesel will return 20 percent better mpg while towing full loads than a comparable gas V8. Related: 2016 Toyota Tacoma first look. The White House says Obama and Xi spoke Monday, the same day the U. N. Security Council unanimously endorsed the deal. China is a permanent member of the Security Council and was part of the group of five Security Council members plus the EU that negotiated the deal with Iran. The Security Council resolution also approved a provision to automatically reinstate sanctions if Iran cheats. The White House says Obama and Xi agreed cooperation between the U.   Reliable old girl

  Pros: "Fun, useful, capable, all aroud TRUCK"

  "I have had my Ram since 1997 and she's been a reliable girl ever since day one. I started with a base model truck and slowly customized it continually over the years. She has been reliable both in city driving and I can run mine at 50mph over open desert. That's with nothing more than a hotter than stock 360 in it and 35" tires and a 3" suspension lift. All the rest of the suspension is stock and you wouldn't think it would hold up to that kind of abuse but it has never show problems with the suspension. I have managed to damage her many times over the years but she still does what she need to do from hauling cargo to towing to just having a blast. If you have any further questions about how tough she is, mine was used by my teen aged son from 2011-2013 while he was in High School before he joined the Marines and you can imagine how tough that was on her. In fact he even admitted to me that he had her above 100mph once going downhill in the mountains... and this is with that lift and those big 35" desert meat tires. If you find one that's not already beat to death it's totally a truck worth having for a little work or fun."

  Cons: "Bad steering components. Can be fixed tho."

  "I bought this truck from the original owner at 185000 miles. I've had to replace most all of the steering parts as that is a known problem area with these trucks. Other than that this has been a very reliable truck. I tow a 12k lb fifth wheel with it and it pulls it with very little trouble over mountain passes. Overall it's a great truck for what it was intended for. Towing and hauling loads."

  "Owned this vehicle since new. Have had to replace both front and rear bumpers due to rust. Transmissions been slipping for 20000 miles, air just quit working. The 5.2 liter isn't nearly enough power for a truck this size. I have babied this thing since I bought it and lots of upkeep. Rusting like mad no matter I wax it every single year. I have a Toyota highlander with 126,000 miles and not one problem."
