Laredo traded slugging first baseman Matt Padgett to Wichita as the team said goodbye to the slumping veteran while bringing back some pitching help in the form of Omar Bencomo. It worked as the Lemurs grabbed a three-game sweep over Lincoln Wednesday despite falling behind after three errors resulted in a five-run seventh inning for the Saltdogs. Making an in-division swap, Laredo traded Padgett, an 18-year veteran, to Wichita for starting pitcher Omar Bencomo. 200 (8-for-40) through 12 games with six runs, one RBI and zero home runs. 304 in 120 games with 81 runs, 16 home runs and 87 RBI last season for Kansas City and the Mexican League’s Monclova.
