  "I am about to absolve myself of my trusty Xterra after 15 years and 2 weeks of ownership and drive time. She sits in the driveway facing her 2015 Nissan Frontier replacement, reflecting back when she replaced a 1992 Nissan Sentra. Anyway, this truck was one reliable piece of transportation and worth every penny I paid. She handled Michigan winters, living without a garage since 2006. Always started (reliable), always ran, was fun to drive, hauled everything under the sun, towed trailers and U-Hauls with ease, took a few cross country trips. A/C, power windows and locks, rear defroster, etc all still work. Handy 2nd stick shift for 4x4 engagement. Bounced back from me wrecking her 3x yet was never in the shop otherwise until very late in life. Kudos Nissan, well done on this one."

  This vehicle had been through the mill, I have put 250,000 miles on it and replaced the tires twice, changed the oil lots and now have to replace the rear shocks. Along with driving constantly in bad weather, I have towed very heavy equipment and up to 23' boats on a regular basis. I have the 3.3 in it which makes it a bit of a slug off the line, but the power is there when you need it. (well geared) While not towing I get around 28 mpg and can go from Kingston On. to Boston Mass. on 1 tank of fuel.

  CERTAIN HOPKINS AFTERMARKET TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL CONNECTION HARNESSES SOLD FOR USE ON CERTAIN MODELS OF NISSAN VEHICLES WHICH ARE LISTED ABOVE. THE INTERNAL PART NUMBERS WITHIN HOPKINS ARE: 1010476025, 1040376025, 1110476025, 1170376025, 1290376025, 1010476035, 1040376035, 1110476035, 1170376035, AND 1290376035. A WIRE MAY HAVE BEEN PLACED IN AN INCORRECT POSITION IN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HOUSING. THIS RESULTS IN AN INCORRECT ROUTING OF WIRES BETWEEN THE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER AND THE TOWING VEHICLE WIRING SYSTEM.

  Consequences:

  THIS HARNESS WOULD RESULT IN POWER FROM THE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER GOING TO THE TOWING VEHICLE DASH LIGHT CIRCUIT RATHER THAN THE TRAILER BRAKES. THIS RESULT WOULD BE THE LACK OF TRAILER BRAKING WHEN THE TOWING VEHICLE BRAKES WERE APPLIED.
