The reason for this isn't because seniors don't have value as customers, but that the vehicles may outlive the drivers, making it more economical for automakers to go after buyers who have many more years ahead of them. However, with more seniors on the road, it may make sense for a slight shift in demographic targeting, especially when drivers over 75 register about six times as many new cars as buyers age 18-24.
