2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet first drive review - Motor Authority

With the arrival of the small CLA sedan three years ago as its entry vehicle, Mercedes-Benz has moved the latest version of its C-Class range up in size, style, and features. Now the C-Class Cabrio soft-top convertible has been unveiled as the last of the four C-Class variants, following the C-Class sedan and coupe that are already on sale. The standard Mercedes-Benz C 300 Cabrio is powered by a 241-horspower turbocharged 2. 0-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 273 lb-ft of torque, paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and 4Matic all-wheel drive can be added as an option. The middle of the three-car Cabrio range is the Mercedes-AMG C43, the lower of two AMG performance variants. 0-liter twin-turbo V-6 is rated at 362 hp and 384 lb-ft, with the 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive as standard. It gets a number of the AMG design add-ons, though not as many as the C63. At the top of the range are the Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63S, whose 4. 0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engines put out 469 or 503 hp and 479 or 516 lb-ft respectively. This year, the C63 comes with a 7-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, though a beefier version of the 9-speed plus all-wheel drive will be swapped in eventually. Source: www.motorauthority.com

Trieste is a small but very beautiful bay city in northeastern Italy, with the unbelievably blue Adriatic Sea on one side and picturesque Slovenia on the other. Staying true to Murphy’s Law, it has to rain… specially when there’s a fast convertible like the new Mercedes-Benz C 300 Cabriolet for me to drive. So, I don’t think I will be able to enjoy the scenic drive with the fabric roof rolled down. And if past drives are any indicators, I won’t be surprised if it becomes nice and sunny the very moment I finished my day’s driving and step out of the car. Rain or sunshine, I have just one day to drive the India-bound petrol powered Mercedes-Benz C 300 Cabriolet on the less explored roads stretching from Trieste to the border towns of Slovenia. As I walk closer to inspect the Cabriolet it appears to be subtly different from the Mercedes-Benz C-Class four-door sedan available in India. Not surprising, because the convertible is based on the two-door Coupe version. The front has the similar set of LED headlight but instead of the twin slats of the C-Class sedan, the Cabriolet gets just one chrome strip holding the large tri-star logo. Interestingly, with the fabric roof stretched over the C 300, its profile closely resembles the C-Class Coupe. Source: www.zigwheels.com

If you like the way one product looks, you're probably going to like them all. There are some variations for the E-Class, such as the light pattern of the headlights, and the continuation of a three-pointed-star hood ornament for the Luxury version or the laid-down badge for the Sport version.
