Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Tire Pressure... As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Body Control Module (BCM) software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on December 1, 2014. ASSOCIATE EDITOR JAKE LINGEMAN: I'm not normally a fan of the styling of the LR4. I think it looks silly with the window that wraps over the top. It sits bolt upright on the road and looks like it might tip over when on rough terrain. Like all Rovers, the interior is plush. The seats are comfy, give you a great view of the road, and I even like the armrest that gets adjusted through that little wheel. The sunroof is a great feature and on the nice days of the weekend, I had it open all the way. I'm sure LR can put a little gutter or something on the lip to stop that from happening. Every time I drive something with this engine it makes me wonder why people go for the 500-hp version in the Range Rover , unless money is really no object. I never thought I'd be fan of this dorky-looking thing, but I guess a coat of paint and some black trim will go a long way. ASSOCIATE EDITOR GRAHAM KOZAK: I feel like Land Rover is in kind of an odd spot in the United States these days. Landies -- and I guess I'm thinking of Series here -- used to be known as quirky, rugged beasts that could take you anywhere and back (with the occasional expedient repair or two along the way).
