Lamborghini. The name, the word, evokes many things in car enthusiasts all around the globe: Power, performance, speed, insanely wild designs, Lambo doors and more. That car was all Lamborghini, as was the Countach and all Lambo flagship vehicles that followed. Although I loved my experience with the Gallardo a few years back, the hyper-popular “entry-level” Lamborghini (14,022 units sold around the world in 10 years) was very German in design and execution. The car’s supercar styling was subdued when measured against the Murcielago and Aventador. If that was a flaw, the new Huracán settles all arguments. In fact, there are no arguments against it. . Compared to Ferrari (its archrival), Lamborghini is all about letting your hair down, sporting tattoos and torn jeans, and being a badass. These four cars are nothing if not of the high-performance breed, and I found them all to be more difficult to live with and less pleasant to drive than the Lambo. Let’s settle a few things before going forward: The Huracán is far more expensive, and has the smallest trunk. On the upside, it’s a freakin’ Lamborghini Huracán. I know, I know: what the hell am I doing talking about taxes when I should be waxing lyrical about this beyond-gorgeous orange Lamborghini Huracán. If you lease it, the capital cost equivalent is $35,294, but that just bumps you up to the V6. My amendment – call it radical if you want – would see that limit bumped all the way up to $317,847. Not coincidentally, you won’t be surprised to hear,... Now, I know it sounds like a boondoggle, but if you’ll just bear with me, there will be a fiscally sound method to my supercar madness. Business is nothing but the art of the meeting, right. But first – and this is often the most difficult part of the capitalistic process — you actually have to get the meeting. That’s because nothing, but nothing , opens doors like the offer of a ride in a Lamborghini. Meeting’s on. National marketing manager keeps pushing back your conference call. One quick Lamborghini’ed email and suddenly it’s absolutely imperative that you meet in person. Hell, I had one managing director cancel her entire afternoon because we suddenly needed a “serious”. Actually, it’s pretty hard to think of even a single Lamborghini that wouldn’t cause a stampede of suddenly. Source: driving.ca

Everyone knows Lamborghini. Whether it’s the story behind the marque and how founder Ferruccio Lamborghini had a disagreement with Enzo Ferrari and vowed to build a better car or the image of iconic Countach that adorned teenaged boys’ bedroom walls in the Eighties, the name... Today, Lamborghini is arguably the most traditionally exotic of the Italian marques, and rightly so, as there’s no other brand as known for its aggressive, angular styling and ferocious engine notes. The Huracán replaces the iconic and long-running V10-powered Gallardo, which was a fantastic supercar in its own right and, in its original 2005 form, one of my favourite supercar designs. Save for only a handful of models in the company’s history, Lamborghini’s cars are named after famous Spanish fighting bulls – the Huracán pays homage to a noted 19th century beast. The low roofline, knife-edged nose, and sculpted profile with sharp creases define the shape of a car capable of speeds well over 300 km/h. The wheel openings are filled with massive forged alloy wheels and ultra low profile tires and hiding behind those rims are the standard equipment carbon ceramic brakes. They fill the wheels, and are sure to impress your mates at the next car meet, but they’re fantastic for two reasons. Look carefully and you’ll quickly see that hexagons are central to the Huracán’s design theme. Source: www.autofocus.ca
