2014 Infiniti QX60 - Driven - Top Speed

named with the prefix QX. I recently spent a week utilizing the 2014 Infiniti QX60 for its intended purpose. The rear-seat DVD system kept passengers entertained, and the all-wheel-drive system helped the QX60 navigate a few torrential Florida downpours. The Infiniti felt at home in both situations, especially with its optional Intelligent Cruise Control system. Speaking of optional equipment, my QX60 tester came equipped with over $14,000 in extras. Even without the extra goodies, the QX60 comes with a laundry list of features befitting a premium brand. The chrome accents surrounding the license plate lend some excitement to the QX60’s hind end. The chrome bright work continues around the SUV’s sides, brightening up the lower rocker panel area, the door handles, side window surrounds, and roof rails. The optional 20-inch alloy wheels complete the look. The touchscreen worked well in nearly every circumstance, though the search function powered by voice control is rather limited in what it can search for. Other functions of the infotainment system worked as expected. SirusXM is easy to navigate, as are the other functions that control the sub-systems of the QX60. Infiniti’s 2014 QX60 Hybrid SUV, which is a gasoline-electric hybrid that’s more than 16 feet long, is rated by the government at 26 mpg in combined city/highway travel. Indeed, the city/highway fuel economy rating for the seven-passenger QX60 is the second-best mileage among all 2014 SUVs with three rows of seats. Only the smaller Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which has less second- and third-row legroom, has a higher combined fuel economy rating – 28 mpg. The test QX60, driven a majority of the time on city streets, fell short of the government’s combined city/highway estimate of 26 mpg, however. The well-appointed QX60 received an overall five out of five stars in federal government crash tests. The all-wheel drive hybrid starts at $47,495. Infiniti is the luxury brand of Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor Co. , and standard features on every QX60 Hybrid include leather-trimmed seats, three-zone, automatic climate control, power moonroof,...
