SAPD seeks red pickup in hit-and-run crash - San Angelo Standard Times

SAN ANGELO, Texas - San Angelo police are searching for a red Ford or Nissan pickup involved in a major crash that backed up westbound lanes of the Houston Harte Expressway. Traffic was backed up for blocks in the area, where a hit-and-run crash left a vehicle upside-down. At the same time, a GMC Yukon drove up the entrance ramp, and the Suburban hit it on the driver’s side and threw it into the guard rail, where it rolled over, said Officer Josh Loudermilk with the San Angelo Police Department. The driver of the Yukon, Yvonne Acosta, had minor injuries, and her two children were not injured. “They left,” he said about the driver of the red pickup. “That’s what upsets me. ”. Acosta said he is offering a $1,000 reward for information about the hit-and-run driver. Brian Bylsma, SAPD traffic investigator, said the second crash involved a Pontiac Grand Am, a Volkswagen Beetle and a Chevrolet Silverado. The Pontiac was heading west on Houston Harte, where traffic was still backed up and slowed down because of the earlier accident, he said. By all indications, the driver of the Pontiac didn’t see the slowed traffic and ran into the back of the Volkswagen, shoving it into the Chevy, Bylsma said. Source: www.gosanangelo.com
