Woodward was driving without a license alone in a carpool lane at 4:30 p. m. Wednesday with five pounds of marijuana in his GMC truck, Sloat said. Noah Wilkinson, 35, of Santa Rosa, was driving a Jeep Laredo around 8:15 p. m. when he made a left turn in front of a CHP car at Santa Rosa Avenue and Todd Road south of Santa Rosa, Sloat said. The officer learned Wilkinson was on probation for a drug offense and his license was suspended for failing to appear in court, Sloat said. The Jeep’s registration expired in 2014 and there was a false registration tag on the license plate, Sloat said. The CHP impounded the Jeep and Wilkinson is facing potential prosecution for violating probation, driving on a suspended license, using his phone while driving and falsifying registration, Sloat said. AJ Allmendinger put his No. 47 JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolet on pole during NASCAR qualifying at Sonoma today, posting an average lap speed of 96. 310 mph in the final round. The California native, who started his racing career in Champ Car, was pegged by Jeff Gordon as the “guy to beat,” on Friday, as USA Today points out. Joining Allmendinger on the front row Sunday will be Kurt Busch, who was second fastest in his No. 41 Stewart Haas Racing Chevrolet. The final qualifying session was red flagged after Kyle Busch had an off at Turn 10 and spunt across the track. The incident prevented those drivers who had yet to cross the finish line on their out lap from posting a time due a frozen clock, potentially affecting the grid order on Sunday.
