This van would be pretty cool even if it didn’t have a slightly NSFW Star Tek mural painted on it, as 70s-era GMC Vandura vans aren’t usually seen in this condition. The seller says it has 25,000 kilometers on it (about 15,500 miles) but being the hoenst Canadian he is, says he can’t verify the previous owner didn’t turn back the odometer from 125,000 km. There is one minor addendum, according to the Hall of Fame, in that Luke Appling, elected to the Hall in 1964, made his managerial debut with Kansas City in 1967 as interim manager of the A’s. Appling finished 10-30 and never returned as a manager. In fact, very few Hall of Famers have succeeded as managers, with one notable exception being St. Louisan Yogi Berra, winning the National League pennant with the New York Mets in 1973, one year after being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Bob Lemon, a 1976 Hall of Famer, finished up the 1978 season with the New York Yankees when they won the World Series and also finished 1981 when they were American League champions. But both had managed other teams before they were elected to the Hall — Berra with the Yankees in 1964 and Lemon with the Kansas City Royals from 1970-72. The WACVA was incorporated May 11, 1951, as a veterans organization for women who served any length of time and was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army, Army Reserves or Army National Guard and is the only female veterans association... Female veterans of other branches of service are also encouraged to become affiliate members of the organization, said Acquanetta Pullins, Chapter 94 first vice president. The chapter also was mentioned favorably in the WACVA national monthly publication, Channel, as the fastest-growing chapter in the U. S. , she added. WACVA is very active in the local community, volunteering with the Veterans Administration and local organizations, Pullins said. With the growing membership, the celebration dinner and social gave everyone a chance to introduce themselves and to honor the seven female Vietnam veterans in the chapter. Chapter president Jeanette Meza Ide served from 1956 to 1959, was out for a year, then served another year before getting married and receiving a discharge for pregnancy in 1962. “In those days, the Army didn’t have pregnancy clothes or pregnant...
