Fernanda Deyanira Corral-Ley, 22, was also ordered to serve 60 days in jail on a work-release basis as part of the sentence handed down July 20 at Santa Cruz County Superior Court by Judge Thomas Fink. 10, 2014, Corral-Ley tried to enter the United States through the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in a 2004 GMC Envoy. Earlier that day, officers at the port had received information from a U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent about a possible drug load. As a result, the Envoy was sent for a secondary inspection, where officers discovered 28 packages of narcotics hidden in the front and back seats. At the time, U. S. Customs and Border Protection estimated the value of the drugs at around $160,000. An ICE agent tried to interview Corral-Ley and her husband about the drugs, but they refused to answer questions and asked for a lawyer. The Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office then accepted the case and charged Corral-Ley and her husband in local court. During a pre-sentence interview on July 10, Corral-Ley reportedly said she didn’t know the drugs were in the SUV, and cast suspicion on her mother-in-law, who sometimes borrowed the vehicle while they were in Nogales, Sonora. While she claimed to be unaware of the drug load, Corral-Ley said she pleaded guilty because she doubted that a jury would. Source: www.nogalesinternational.com

Bond was set at $1,500. 08/10 - Dylan Mueggenberg of Fort Morgan was driving 2003 Buick Park Avenue south on Hwy. The vehicle rotated counter clockwise off the left side of the road and hit a post. The vehicle continued broadside down an embankment and hit a stop sign with the right side of the vehicle. The vehicle rotated across Morgan Conty Road Y and came to a stop. Trooper Marty Plakorus issued a ticket for careless driving. 08/18 - Patricia Weimer was in a 2012 Lincoln stopped at a stop sign on Morgan County Road 12 facing south. She pulled away from the sign and was hit by a 2012 Dodge Ram driven by a minor of Fort Morgan. The Dodge was headed west on Morgan County Road Q and hit the Lincoln on the left side. Both vehicles went off the southwest corner of the intersection and both hit a wooden fence before coming to a stop. the Lincoln had severe damage and the Dodge had moderate damage.
