A mid-size pickup truck with a potent yet frugal four-cylinder turbo diesel engine. Unfortunately, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel and sister model 2016 GMC Canyon Diesel are set to arrive later on in the model year. There’s no intel on pricing at the present moment, but we have this sneaking suspicion that a 2. 8L Duramax turbo diesel engine doesn’t come cheap in a segment that’s already laden with somewhat pricey offerings. Thanks to 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of twist, the 2. 8-liter Duramax oil burner is torquier than the 3. 6-liter V6 gasoline engine (269 lb-ft / 364 Nm), a figure that translates to improved towing and hauling capabilities. At best, the 2016 Colorado and Canyon with the diesel engine will return 34 mpg (6. 9 liters/100 km) highway. 100 mm and 94 mm. Other than the oil burner, the 2016 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon Diesel come as standard with an exhaust brake, integrated trailer brake controller, as well as a 2-speed electric transfer case and a 6-speed automatic transmission. For the 2016 MY, the Colorado LT Convenience pack and Z71 receive a rear-sliding window as standard. This bit of kit also applies to the Canyon’s SLT and SLE Convenience Package.
