Felon sought in Bryceville burglary spree - First Coast News

-- The Nassau County Sheriff's Office has identified a suspect wanted for breaking into several Bryceville homes and stealing guns and TVs, deputies said Monday. Witnesses told investigators a tan vehicle was seen leaving some of the scenes, deputies said. Based on that description, deputies stopped a tan 2003 Ford Focus driven by Chris Morgan, 46, of Jacksonville, Saturday morning, according to a news release. At some point in the stop, Morgan -- who had active warrants for burglary and dealing in stolen property -- drove off, according to the Sheriff's Office. Deputies chased Morgan into Jacksonville where he then got away. His criminal record includes burglary and drug charges as well as an offense for fleeing from law enforcement, deputies said. He's known to drive a tan 2003 Ford Focus with a Florida tag CPLQ48 or a 1997 gold Saturn S-Series with a Florida tag DAVK80. While many people trade in an old car when they buy new, what are you supposed to do if you’re not in the market for a new-to-you car but you still want to get rid of an old car. Since it was from an older relative who didn’t drive much, the car had 75,000 miles on the odometer when we assumed ownership. Given that most cars are driven, on average, 12,000 miles per year, there should have been nearly twice that many miles on the car, given its age. Soon thereafter our 10-year-old, everyday car, a Ford Freestyle, started having significant problems. Estimates to get both fixed added up to almost as much as the Kelley Blue Book (KBB) value for this car. Finally, earlier this summer, the rear windshield shattered–either by a passing lawnmower or the extreme summer heat. What I do know is that because this car is older and pretty beat up—both our daughters learned to drive in this car so you can only imagine the dents and scratches it received during parallel parking practice—we didn’t have comprehensive insurance... Suddenly, all these needed repairs added up to more than the car was worth. With this newer car sitting in our driveway, it became obvious that it was probably time to get rid of the Ford Freestyle. Reports state Bock was driving a 2003 Ford Focus north of Eagle Court. If you are involved in an accident take these steps: Call 9-1-1. Check to see if anyone needs assistance. If a "hit-and-run" has occurred call police immediately and try to find a safe place until they arrive. Emotions can run high in the event of a traffic accident. After you have called 9-1-1, call your insurance carrier. They can usually tell you how to go about exchanging insurance information and detailing the scene.
