Police seek second driver in fatal I-295 crash - New Jersey 101.5 FM Radio

New Jersey State Police say a 2011 Ford F550 pickup truck ran off the road at the Route 73 overpass and into a support beam, bursting into flames and closing the both highways for hours. The driver of a box truck involved in the accident, Joseph Tiedeman, 58, of Burlington, has not been seen since Sunday night and is listed as a missing person. He is described as 6’1? and weighing 240 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and glasses. He was wearing a red tee-shirt labeled “Road Assist Professional,” black work pants and brown boots. Anyone with information regarding Tiedman should contact State Police at 609-298-1171. 2014 Sales Recap: Brands and Vans - PickupTrucks.com

I'm surprised to see them show combined sales for all general motors pickups chevy and gmc. it will be interesting to see what happens with sales of the new f150. I for one hope chevy and ram sales gain more on ford so that ford will heavily discount the new trucks. No doubt I want a ford but not when ram and chevy are 5 to 10 grand less. I do agree that Ram will improve sales BUT they are much closer to running out of capacity than Ford or GM. We will see slow but steady gains. I doubt that Ford will have any problems regaining lost sales due to retooling. The Titan XD Cummins is more likely to erode ¾ ton sales as opposed to max tow/haul ½ ton trucks. Car Trend indicated that most people with HD’s tow around 10K. Those opting for HD ½ ton trucks are more likely to be sensitive to price. Max cargo F150’s for example tend to be more the domain of work trucks or price sensitive consumers who can’t justify diesel and/or ¾ ton pickups. I suspect that Titan will more likely erode Ram sales since the do not have a competitive HD ½ ton and due to reliability concerns with Ram trucks in general. Diaz has an axe to grind with Ram and that axe is named XD. People are myopic and most will favour ½ tons over small trucks because fuel prices are low. I suspect we will see the ratio of small truck versus full sized stay the same at 10% small/. Source: news.pickuptrucks.com

Chesterfield police, fire departments to get new vehicles - New Baltimore Voice Newspapers

The Chesterfield Township Fire Department will soon obtain a new emergency vehicle that will help improve rescue service in the community, the fire chief recently said. Chesterfield Township Board members voted unanimously April 6 to approve the purchase of a fully-equipped Ford F550 chassis from Halt Fire/Pierce Manufacturing at a cost of about $255,000. The funds to pay for the apparatus were included in this... Fire Chief Doug Charbonneau said the vehicle will come with nearly every piece of equipment needed to make emergency runs. “It’ll roll in the door fully prepared to roll out the door,” he said. Charbonneau told the board the new truck will allow for a “big improvement” to the department’s rescue service. “What’s great about that is if we have a car, and we’ve had many of them, shoot off into a field, we can’t access them, (but) now we’ll be able to carry that Jaws unit right onto the field,” he said. In addition, the new truck is slightly smaller than the department’s previous vehicles, which has many benefits, the chief said. Source: www.voicenews.com
