Intoxicated driver crashes through fence, gets stuck on railroad tracks, and ... - Southgate News Herald

The caller said the vehicle was trying to get off the tracks and it appeared the driver was intoxicated. Upon arrival, police observed that a Ford F-150 had run over the curb, through a fence and onto the tracks. The driver appeared to be “very unsteady” on his feet when he exited the vehicle, and an odor of intoxicants emitted from the vehicle. Upon arrival, the caller said after the driver behind her rear-ended her vehicle, and then got out of his vehicle and began “acting as if he were under the influence of something. During the search, police found a backpack filled with drugs, including methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia. Police observed a Ford Taurus traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Fort Street near Veterans Parkway at 11 p. m. Aug. After conducting a traffic stop, police said they could detect a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle. Although the passenger originally denied having marijuana in the vehicle, he gave officers a small plastic bag filled with marijuana that he had on him. Source: www.thenewsherald.com
