2015 Ford F-150 Performance Mode Announced - Geeky Gadgets

Ford has announced a new mode that is available on the 2015 F-150 that has apparently been there all along but had not been announced. The new mode is a Sport Mode that is available with any engine option. When activated correctly, an amber S appears in the lower right side of the tach to indicate the mode is active. Sport Mode changes the frequency of gearshifts to hold the truck I its peak torque band more of the time. This allowed the engineers to port Sport Mode easily to the F-150. The disappointment was palpable when Ford announced that the new aluminum-bodied Raptor, which it showed for the first time last January during the Detroit Auto Show, would be attached to the 2017 model year. Not only will the new Raptor carry a version of Ford’s high-performance 3. 5-liter EcoBosot V6 akin to the unit scheduled for duty in the upcoming GT supercar, it will have both four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The new Raptor will have a version of both systems working together. When the Raptor arrives late in 2016 for the 2017 model year, it will also have a new 10-speed automatic transmission that, in tandem with a new “street mode,” should allow the Raptor to achieve decent fuel economy at highway speeds without giving... By making incremental changes every little change added every year keeps it fresher. Take the 14 Tundra it got new safety tech, exterior and interior. Now the 16 Tundra will get new colors for TRD Pro, the larger fuel tank option and ITBC option for the 5. 7L. The 17 Tundra could follow the 2016 5. 7L Lexus LX 570 and gain the 8-speed auto.
