The 3, 5, and 7 Series sedans are all available with diesel engines that make more torque than their gasoline counterparts but manage much better fuel economy. If utility is your thing, the sporty X3 compact crossover and the frugal-but-frivolous X5 xDrive35d are also available in diesel, keeping the headaches at the pump that usually accompany luxury SUVs to a minimum.
