However, in this eco conscious day and age, often these powerful pick up trucks tend to lend themselves to having a negative impact on the environment and their surroundings. Well, Dodge has built a truck called the Dodge Ram 1500 Eco Diesel and it differs from most trucks previously built. As with most Ram Trucks, the engine delivers its impressive power with fluidity and impressive force. The fuel efficiency of the truck is by far and away the most impressive aspect of the engine and its components. By our estimates, we managed to get around 27 mile per gallon whilst driving smoothly in the country and around 19-20 whilst city driving. American trucks now no longer have to have the gas-guzzler tag and hopefully this is the start of a new trend of eco friendly American imports. Quite simply, both the interior and exterior are simply stunning, but you don’t need to test drive the vehicle to figure that out. The interior is slick and modern in design whilst allowing a lot of the new technology to present itself to the driver in a calm and efficient way. Just last March, Chrysler definitively killed the Ram Hemi Hybrid pickup it had been developing for several years. RIP Hemi Hybrid. com that proposes that the company's Ram 1500 pickup truck will offer a Cummins 5. 0-liter turbodiesel, making it the first of the Detroit Three to offer a "small" diesel option in a light-duty pickup, along with a hybrid-electric transmission... According to the site, this was based on entries appearing in the company's Stars dealer-ordering system, which we can't confirm because we don't have access to it. We'd be all in favor of a light-duty diesel, but the real head-scratcher was the... Sales of the General Motors hybrid pickup twins (the Chevy Silverado Hybrid and GMC Sierra Hybrid) could politely be described as anemic. No light-duty diesel version of the Dodge Ram was included in Chrysler's recent blitz of more than a dozen relaunched models for 2011. While the diesel was supposedly offered in both regular and Quad-Cab models, the hybrid transmission requires a... The 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE--for High Fuel Efficiency, of course--increases the 3. 0-liter turbodiesel V-6 Ram's fuel-economy advantage over rival full-size trucks, but only by a little. Ram says the new model will return 24 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway). While the EcoDiesel engine is also available with four-wheel drive in other trim levels, the HFE is rear-wheel drive only. The HFE is also limited to a single body configuration--a four-door crew cab with the 6-foot-4-inch bed from the base Ram 1500 Tradesman model.
