The daughter of Chicago, anti-violence activist Andrew Holmes was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Indianapolis, Ind. Tamara Sword, a 34-year-old mother of five, was with friends at a gas station when someone pulled up and fired tens of rounds. Holmes had been working a crime scene in Chicago when he learned of his daughter’s death. A police officer assigned to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s detail was shot with a pellet gun outside of Gracie Mansion. Officials tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to Rick’s Cabaret before 10:45 p. m. When deputies arrived on the scene, an ambulance on the scene was already working to take one person to the hospital. After speaking with witnesses, deputies learned that a verbal disturbance between two Hispanic subjects occurred outside of the club and management asked everyone involved to leave. According to the report, as one man was attempting to leave the parking lot the other man decided to approach the driver and stuck his arm inside the vehicle. That’s when the driver tried to leave the parking lot again and the vehicle continued out of the parking lot with the subject on the side of his truck. Deputies say a witness trying to follow the truck found the victim in the road with the truck nowhere to be found. The suspect’s truck is described as a 2013-2014 Maroon Dodge Ram Pickup one ton with dual rear axles. We’re told the truck has gold striping down the side and over the fender welds and has a “lift kit” to raise the vehicle higher than normal. UPDATE: Truck Crashes Into Big Spring Social Security Building - NewsWest9.com

BIG SPRING – Two men have been arrested after a pickup truck crashed through the Social Security Building in Big Spring. Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to a vehicle crash in the 200 block of East Marcy around 8:30 p. m. Thursday night. An investigation revealed that a 2000 Dodge Ram was traveling westbound when the vehicle lost control and hit a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. Then the Dodge Ram continued in a southwest direction where the truck struck the wall of the Social Security Office causing severe damage to the building. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 25-year-old Dustin Riley, fled the scene on foot. 44-year-old William Riley was found inside of the Dodge Ram after the accident and taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for minor injuries. Later in the evening, an investigation led officers to the 800 block of Lorilla where they found Dustin Riley. Dustin was also taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for his injuries sustained in the crash. Big Spring Police also said that warrants are being requested for Dustin for the offenses of duty of striking a structure or landscaping and failure to comply with requirements of accident involving damage to a vehicle.
