ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) — You can find cheap car parts at auto recycle yards around New Mexico but it is not the only thing you can find. Would-be criminals can also find a gold mine of people’s personal information. A stack of Delbert Secatero’s personal paperwork was found in a 2001 Dodge Ram he sold in March. Some of those papers — bank statements, car loan information and a paycheck stub — were in fact found inside the Dodge Ram, which now sits in the U Pull & Pay auto recycling lot off south Broadway in Albuquerque. If people don’t take that information with them or they don’t go down to the tow yard to retrieve it, they’re leaving themselves open to identity theft,” said Sgt. At the auto recycling lots you’ll find rows of dead and mangled vehicles for people to pick through for parts. But at the U Pull & Pay, one in about every 10 vehicles had personal items inside, including photographs of children, cell phones with personal numbers stored on them and paperwork with sensitive information like Social Security numbers, bank... At the same time, a corps of young receivers are running the same routes that the Coyotes would run if that play was called on a Friday night. However, it all begins to come together before the end of the annual Alice Coyote Quarterback/Receiver Camp. “This camp gives our potential QB's the opportunity to learn proper technique for throwing a football along with the footwork that goes with our offensive scheme,” Soza said. The groups, divided by age, covered everything from basic position drills to more team-oriented drills. “Running backs are also considered receivers so it is good to see our kids trying to develop and improve their receiving skills. The QB position is probably the most important position on the football team for obvious reasons. The 7th Alice Coyote Summer Football Camp is July 27-30. Resuming even a limited flow of traffic on Interstate 10 was expected to have taken weeks, but the California Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that the highway will handle traffic again far sooner than originally expected. The flash flood eroded land around several bridges, with the hardest hit crossing Tex Wash, a normally dry gully that swelled with rainfall Sunday amid the kind of sudden, intense storm that can reshape the desert floor. The fast-moving water severely eroded soil under the concrete that anchors one side of the interstate’s westbound span, making it unsafe. The noon Friday reopening was an “aggressive” timetable that required around-the-clock work, said Mike Beauchamp, Caltrans’ head of construction in the region. In light of the damage, some outside engineers said Caltrans may need to adopt tougher design and protection standards for highway bridges, particularly with heavy rains possible in the coming months due to the ocean-warming phenomenon known as El...
