ELKVIEW, W. Va. -- Kanawha County deputies need your help to find a man accused of stealing a vehicle from a gas station at the Crossings Mall in Elkview. Deputies said the owner of a pick-up truck left his vehicle running when he went into the store at about 4:15 a. m. Saturday morning. That's when deputies said the man caught in this surveillance picture walked up to the truck, got inside and drove off. The suspect is described as a white man. The truck is a dark blue, extended cab 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle has a WV license plate 3BJ582. KITTANNING, Pa. (AP) — An escaped inmate suspected of strangling an acquaintance and stealing a gun and two trucks while on the run led police on a chase and rammed a cruiser before being captured Friday, authorities said. State troopers took Robert Crissman into custody about 26 hours after authorities said he walked away from a work-release program at a jail about 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, where he was serving time for a probation violation. " He said Crissman's quick capture was a testament to good police work and strong cooperation from the public. Police were alerted to Crissman's location at about 7:30 a. m. Friday by a 911 caller who said he knocked on her door seeking help, Andreassi said. The woman recognized Crissman from news coverage of the escape and refused to let him in. Crissman, 38, fled in a stolen truck as police converged on the Boggs Township home, leading a 5- to 7-mile chase before he rammed the back of a state police... Ford F-150 pickup gets mixed results in crash tests The crew cab version of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 earned high marks in all but one category of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's crash tests, but the extended cab fared worse. ly/1SjJaK5 The nation's best-selling vehicle, the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup with its aluminum body, got mixed reviews in independent crash tests that are among the most closely watched in the auto industry. The SuperCrew crew cab version got high ratings in tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but SuperCab extended-cab version was rated marginal in one critical test. The tests also determined that the truck's aluminum construction, designed to save weight and thus fuel, results in more damage to the truck in a low-speed accident than steel and costs more to repair. That finding could come as a blow to F-150, which is always a target for its chief rivals, Chevrolet and its Silverado and Fiat Chrysler's Ram division. IIHS' tests are important because Ford took a huge, expensive gamble by switching from steel to aluminum in its construction of the pickups. IIHS put the trucks through its normal barrier crash tests. And it also took the unusual step of crash-testing both a steel-bodied 2014 model and an aluminum-bodied 2015, then comparing the results.
