During our 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab 4WD first drive, we noted "Attacking the grade at 55 mph (mandated for all vehicles pulling a trailer in California), I had to keep the pedal nearly on the floor to maintain my speed up the hill. Impressively, if I went all the way to the floor, the Sierra would actually start to pick up speed while climbing the grade. On the way back down, Tow/Haul mode dropped the transmission into a lower gear the first time I touched the brakes and allowed the drivetrain to do much of the braking, so only a bit of light braking was needed to keep the speed right where I... " As impressed with how the 2014 Sierra 1500 drives, we concluded "No, the Sierra hasn't leapfrogged the Ram or F-150, but it's a solid, capable truck fully prepared to go head to head with its rivals, which probably weren't expecting the...
