Nissan puts its name on Tennessee Titans' stadium - Knoxville News Sentinel

Not pictured is the Nissan Titan full-size pickup, which the Nashville-based automaker plans to use as a tie-in to the NFL team. Beginning this fall, the Tennessee Titans will play in Nissan Stadium, the new name for the downtown Nashville facility that, since 2006, had been known as LP Field. Franklin-based Nissan North America has bought exclusive naming rights to the stadium for the next 20 years, effective immediately, the automaker and the Titans announced Thursday. The deal is still contingent on approval by the National Football League and Nashville's Metropolitan Government Authority, which owns the stadium that has been the Titans' home since it opened in 1999. The Nissan presence in Middle Tennessee... The company moved its North American headquarters to Nashville in 2006, and opened its new headquarters building in suburban Franklin in 2008. Nissan also has an engine plant in Decherd, Tenn. Perhaps not coincidentally, Nissan's popular full-size pickup truck, introduced in 2003, is called the Titan.
