Kohl's caper crumbles - Kingston Times

A three-person scheme to shoplift from the Kohl’s in the Town of Ulster Saturday night didn’t go quite as planned, resulting in three arrests. But, police said, a third male suspect ran away from them and then stole a 2001 Ford F-350 pickup from the parking lot. Police said they called off the pursuit after the truck entered the City of Kingston, due to the suspect hitting another vehicle’s front bumper. Police said a county-wide alert was issues for the vehicle and suspect. The probe is continuing, police said, adding that charges are pending for the alleged truck thief, Christopher Rega, 24, of Saugerties. She was charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny and misdemeanor fifth-degree conspiracy for, police allege, stealing merchandise with a value over $1,200, characterized by the police as mostly assorted clothing. Charged with the misdemeanors of fourth-degree criminal facilitation and fifth-degree conspiracy was Catherine T. Buboltz, 22, of Port Ewen. Both Buboltzes were arraigned in Ulster Town Court and sent to Ulster County Jail. Source: www.kingstonx.com

Farmers Branch police searching for man suspected of stealing truck - Dallas Morning News (blog)

Shortly after, the man exits and climbs into the back seat of a white Cadillac Escalade, police said. The Escalade pulls into the back of the parking lot where the man gets out and breaks into a black 2008 Ford F-350. He speeds off in the truck about 5:40 a. m. , police said.   Pros: "Power, power, power"

  Cons: "weak torque converter, without chip bad milage"

  "New torque converter, 4" exhaust, new tires, new grill, 7 position chip, K&N air filter, new batteries and new injectors. this pulled my 14,500lb 5th wheel up anything in Wa, state with ease. Now haul a 3,600lb camper and 3,000lb boat anywhere I want to go with no power loss. With my chip set at 100hp, I get 28 MPG with canopy on not towing anything. I have had this truck for 8 yrs and no reason to trade it in, only paid $18,500 with 60,000 miles on it from a dealer. Do change out torque converter, that is the week spot."

  Review

  Looks good, runs and tows great, turbo gives lots of boost, seats are comfy, layout is good, and lots of room in the crew cab. Nice paint job, the anti-lock brakes (4-wheel disc) work properly if loaded or full. That alone is worth getting the truck. Mileage is 16 in town, 18-19 on freeway, but using fuel conditioner from Wal-Mart can get up to 21. Complaints: no armrests and the bed is too thin so it bends easily if loading pallets or heavy items. The master clutch cylinder is plastic and prone to need changing every 40-50k. Otherwise it is a great truck. Now have 97,000 miles.

  Best Features

  Powerful engine is fun to drive, and it holds curves like a smaller truck. Plus the 500-600 mile range between fill ups is nice, double my old '88 crew cab with the 351 engine. The 2wd version keeps tires for their life, around 30,000 per set.

  Worst Features

  Stronger steel in bed, armrests on basic version, better master clutch cylinder.
