Vehicle stolen from family of 8-year-old cancer patient on way to treatment - WTHR

A family passing through Indiana on their way to get treatment for their daughter's cancer lost everything. The Griffin family of Pennsylvania was on their way to California for a cancer treatment for their 8-year-old girl, Nevaeh, when they pulled off of I-70 in Plainfield to stay the night at the Baymont Inn just after 11:00 Thursday night. When they woke up Friday morning and prepared to take off, they found that someone had stolen their vehicle, which had personal and prized items inside, including a hard drive containing irreplaceable memories. Griffin stated that every single picture that she had of her daughter was on that hard drive, so she has zero pictures of her daughter, who is fighting bone cancer," said Sgt. Investigators tell Eyewitness News that sometime late Thursday night into about 9:00 Friday morning, someone took off with the Ford F-250 pickup truck. While the family waits to hear what happened to their vehicle and the items inside, time is ticking to get to California to get treatment for their daughter. "I have been in contact with the mother almost all day [Saturday] and I have a 9-year-old and an 11-year-old girl, and to see the pictures of her and with her being 8, it just kind of brings this a little closer to home. One arrested, one wanted in car dealership thefts - WIS

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has recovered two stolen high-dollar trucks and the vehicle used to steal them. Investigators say the first vehicle, a silver 2015 Dodge Ram truck worth $30,000 was stolen on April 8 from Orangeburg Chrysler. A second vehicle, a 2015 Ford F-250 4x4 crew cab truck worth $60,000 went missing from Gibbes Ford on April 26. "So far one individual has been arrested in these thefts while we're continuing to search for another," Ravenell said. Investigators are still looking for Jamar Johnson, Ravenell said. Once arrested Johnson is expected to be charged with two counts of grand larceny over $10,000. According to the warrants, Johnson is believed to have driven the white Ford F-350 to steal the trucks while Till stored the Ford on his property. The two then conspired to sell it. Security video in each case showed a white Ford F-350 involved in the thefts. Once arrested Johnson is expected to be charged with two counts of grand larceny. Source: www.wistv.com
