Stores will receive the uniforms over a period of six months from July to November, and new soldiers will receive Operational Camouflage Pattern Army Combat Uniforms beginning in January. The Operational Camouflage Pattern was selected following the most comprehensive uniform camouflage testing effort ever undertaken by the Army, reflecting its paramount commitment to force protection. of the Army Daniel A. Dailey encouraged enlisted soldiers to purchase new uniforms with their annual clothing allowance. I myself will wait until I am issued my clothing allowance before purchasing a uniform with the Operational Camouflage Pattern. The cost of the uniform in the Operational Camouflage Pattern will be similar to the cost of the uniform in the Universal Camouflage Pattern. Uniforms and equipment in the Operational Camouflage Pattern will be available for U. S. Army National Guard, U. S. Army Reserve, and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps during summer 2016. Indian Village researchers find pot completely intact - Daily Republic

The discovery was made Saturday at the Thomsen Archeodome during the village's annual Archeology Awareness Days held at the site along Lake Mitchell. Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village Executive Director Cindy Gregg said the findings created a clear sense of excitement. She said the small size of the item could have been one of the reasons it has stayed as one piece after an estimated 1,000 years. Last month, researchers for the first time found 1,000-year-old charred corn and sunflower seeds at the site, and also found small corn cobs that affirmed that the people living along Firesteel Creek had a diverse diet and were seasoned farmers. Researchers working the archaeological site along Lake Mitchell have discovered troves of small, charred kernels of corn and sunflowers, each only a few millimeters wide, that remain intact more than 1,000 years after people lived in the area... Alan Outram, who is in his 12th year bringing students from the University of Exeter, in England, to partner with Augustana College students, said the team has found as much carbonized plant matter in the last two weeks than from the last 11 years. Augustana College Professor of Archeology Adrien Hannus, who serves as the project director at the site, said when the archeodome was being built and finished in 1999, they got an idea of where the best deposits would be. That hinted to Hannus... They would be capped with clay and ash, because insects such as beatles can't survive climbing through ash, according to researchers. Source: www.mitchellrepublic.com
