Detroit — The question-and-answer portion of the annual Lions kickoff luncheon Wednesday produced several funny comments from the players. But the question for Darryl Tapp provided some insight into how one of the Lions' defensive line leaders approaches the game. Asked how he stays so enthusiastic, the happy-go-lucky and boisterous Tapp shared an idea passed on to him by former star wide receiver T. J. Houshmandzadeh when they were teammates on the Seattle Seahawks in 2009. "We're playing a kid's game for... The 30-year-old Tapp was actually among the final cuts last year, but after Kyle Van Noy's injury freed a spot on the 53-man roster, the veteran spent all last season in Detroit. Despite losing several of their top defensive linemen from 2014, Tapp expects the unit to remain productive in 2015. "Some of the faces may change, but the goal is still the same," he said.
