Woman gets jail for sixth OWI - Leader-Telegram

ALMA — A 48-year-old Mondovi woman convicted Thursday in Buffalo County Court of her sixth offense of driving while intoxicated was placed on three years probation with conditions that she serve a year in jail and pay $1,694 in fines. Rands, S589 Cole Road, previously known as Judith Burke and Judith Sherrod, had five previous driving while intoxicated convictions between 1993 and 2003 in Minnesota and Wisconsin, according to court records. According to court records: Police received a call on April 5 of an erratic driver leaving the Dollar Store in Mondovi. Police found the 1999 Cadillac Eldorado in question at a nearby convenience store. Wrinn, who began his career with the Norwalk police in 1984, retired after a 31-year career to assume a new role as Chief Information Security Officer at NexGen, a law enforcement technology company in East Haven. Terrence Blake, who joined the Norwalk Police in 1998 and currently serves as the Public Information Officer in Community Policing, will be promoted to lieutenant, where he will serve in the Patrol Division. Sofia Gulino, who joined the department in 2004 and will be transferred to Community Policing. Most of the engineers who work on the V cars, it turns out, have humble racing backgrounds. “The guys who work on the V cars have to truly understand performance,” Roma says. To get on the V engineering team, you have to achieve a “Level 6” certification from GM, meaning you can only be tenths of a second off a pro driver’s pace around a track. Tony’s one of the Level 6 guys. And the love of speed and precision guys like Roma bring to the table is the ATS-V’s secret sauce. And so it is the next day, at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, that I all too easily pry him out of the pits and into the left seat of a manually equipped ATS-V coupe. He slides into the car like a man who has spent more hours in a bolstered seat than any Aeron chair. I’d already taken a fair measure of the cars, both coupe and sedan, six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic, and had come away relieved.
