SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP — Four people were injured in a head-on collision at the intersection of Lexington-Springmill and Millsboro Roads Tuesday afternoon. Barbara James, 78, of Bellville was traveling south on Lexington-Springmill Road in a beige 2004 Cadillac DeVille at 4:48 p. m. Tuesday when she and failed to yield while turning left, according to the Mansfield Post of Ohio Highway Patrol. As James turned to head east onto Millsboro Road, her car was struck head-on by a northbound gray 2015 Nissan Versa driven by Sherry Kempf, 67, of Bellville. Road to Sandra Bland's alma mater named for her - Bloomington Pantagraph

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) — A small Texas university town where a black Chicago-area woman was arrested during a traffic stop, launching a chain of events that ended in her death in a jail cell, has renamed for her the road to her alma mater. The Prairie View City Council voted Tuesday night to rename University Boulevard, the road to the Prairie View A&M University campus, to Sandra Bland Boulevard. A July 10 traffic stop in Prairie View escalated into a confrontation between Bland and a state trooper that led to Bland's arrest. NBC5 Investigates has found that – at the time of her death — she still owed a total of $7,579. 00 in court fines resulting from five traffic stops in various Chicago suburbs (including a DUI), and she had been cited several times for her failure... June of 2004 – Bland was charged by Elmhurst police with one count of retail theft of less than $150. She pled guilty to that charge in August of 2004. paid a fine. June of 2005 – Bland was stopped by police in Oakbrook Terrace and charged with two traffic violations: Driving too fast for conditions or failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. April of 2009 – Bland was charged in Harris County with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, but the charge was dismissed. May of 2010 – Bland was charged in two separate court cases in Harris County, Texas, for misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving while intoxicated. Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on I 24 - SurfKY News

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (8/5/15) — According to a Kentucky State Police report, KSP investigated a two-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on Interstate 24, at approximately the 86 mile-marker, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 11:15 p. m. The preliminary investigation revealed that Shanise Phillips , 23, Clarksville, Tenn. , was operating a 2013 Nissan Versa westbound on I-24 in the left lane. , was operating a 2004 Cadillac Deville westbound on I-24 in the right lane. The report said Phillips crossed over into the right lane and her vehicle collided into Campbell's, causing both operators to lose control. Phillips and her passenger, Darrell Starks , 31, Madisonville, Ky. , were transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. , was flown by Air Evac to Tristar Skyline Medical Center for treatment of severe injuries. His other passenger, Nicole Cummins , 34, Clarksville, Tenn. Trooper Sean Wint investigated the collision. Sergeant Tim Sales, Sergeant Jeff Ayres, Trooper Billy Over and Christian County EMS assisted at the scene. Source: surfky.com
