Jadeveon Clowney's father charged with attempted murder in Rock Hill - Charleston Post Courier

ROCK HILL — The father of Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for a shooting at a bar in Rock Hill. Rock Hill Police Department Capt. Mark Bollinger says David Morgan also was charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The police report said Morgan, nicknamed “Chilli Bean,” was removed from the bar for sitting on the stage. Morgan was in prison when Clowney, the former South Carolina Gamecock who was the No. 1 selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, was playing football for South Pointe High in Rock Hill. Morgan was sentenced to 15 years in prison after convictions for burglary and other crimes in 1995, and has a criminal record that dates back to 1987, according to the Rock Hill Herald. Athletic director Dan Radakovich made the call Thursday, a year after evaluating Leggett’s job security and choosing to retain him for 2015 under the premise of steady improvement. The Tigers responded with a 32-29 season and quick ouster from an NCAA regional for the fifth consecutive year. “After careful evaluation and review of the season, and the projection of our program over the last few years, it was my decision to introduce a fresh approach to our program,” Radakovich said at an afternoon press conference. “He’s one of the icons of our profession,” South Carolina coach Chad Holbrook told a Columbia radio station. “It’s a sad day for college baseball. Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan, a former Leggett assistant, told D1Baseball. He’s meant the world to me. ”. Leggett, 61, was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Jan. He oversaw six trips to the College World Series, and for a time was the Tom Izzo of baseball: never letting a graduating senior miss out on Omaha. But the team has endured a backslide each and every one of the past five years, going from College World Series to losing a home regional to losing a regional at home to losing a regional at South Carolina (to the Gamecocks) to losing another... Renovation project announced at Wild Dunes Links - Charleston Post Courier

The resort has announced that the course will be closing May 4 for a project that will include resurfacing the greens, replacing the asphalt cart paths with concrete and renovating the irrigation system. Director of golf Jeff Minton said greens will be brought back to their original size and several greens, including those on holes 10-13, will be enlarged and softened because they have too much contour for modern-day grasses such as the Champion... Resort officials, working with architect Tom Fazio, also hope to come up with the best solution for the erosion-plagued 18th hole. Originally designed as a par-5, the resort in recent years has been forced to convert it to a par-3. “We are still not exactly sure what the best solution would be for that hole,” Minton said. He said the resort would love to bring it back as a par-5, but the beach erosion has not stabilized enough to make a final decision. Having a par-3 finishing hole isn’t unheard of. U.
