The Philadelphia Flyers have joined the ever-growing ranks of NHL teams to employ a full-time goaltending development coach to supplement the work of their NHL goalie coach. On Wednesday, the team announced the hiring of longtime Victoria Royals goaltending coach and Hockey Canada goaltending consultant Brady Robinson as the organization's goalie development coach. Last month, newly hired Flyers goaltending coach Kim Dillabaugh brought Robinson along on an ad hoc basis to work together with the prospects attending the Flyers Development Camp in Voorhees, NJ. Flyers general manager Ron Hextall indicated at... The GDI was founded by Ian Clark (now the goaltending coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets) in 1996. Dillabaugh, who started out as a GDI student, became its British Columbia regional director. From 2006 to 2015, Robinson served as the goaltending coach for the Chilliwack Bruins and Victoria Royals (the Chilliwack franchise relocated to Victoria in 2011).
