Classic cars are showstoppers in Calne - The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald
Each year the museum adopts a theme for the show, with this year’s being the iconic Mark I and Mark II Jaguar. Calne’s Don Wescott scooped the best in theme with his 1956 Jaguar XK140. Devizes enthusiast Tony Green, won a special trophy with his Aston Martin DB2. Among the 200 exhibits was Bert Huntley of Swindon with his 1937 Ford Model Y which he has... David White, of Melksham, has also owned his treasured classic car for half a decade. The former member of the RAF brought his 1946 MG TC back from Cyprus. Former pilot, Richard Clode, who previously controlled a Jet Provest Mark IV aircraft, now controls a Jaguar XJ8. Marlborough’s Peter Turvey brought his rare 1914 Stanley Steam car which went on show next to Greyhound the Showman’s Steam Engine of...
