This is a real deal Cal Custom Fly Eye Air Cleaner from the 60's-early 70's. These were sold at speed shops and were the favorite of many Supercar builders. If you look through vintage car magazines of the 60's and 70's, you will see these on some of the top car performance cars like Baldwin Motion, Nickey, Bill Thomas, etc. Finding a fly eye air cleaner in any condition today is quite a task. Don't miss this awesome original.
This air cleaner is in good original condition as shown. This air cleaner was only used for a very short period of time before it was returned to its original box and placed on a shelf in cool dry storage until this year. It appears totally complete less the foam element. Most guys use a furnace filter foam today which is flame retardant. The chrome base has an amazing shine and reflection with no dings, dents, or pitting. The carb opening is made to fit 5 1/8 inch carbs such as Holley, Edelbrock, etc. There is also an original reducer that allows this air cleaner to be used on Carter AFB, WCFB, and other carbs with the smaller 4 7/32" opening. The fly eye screens are very nice with light wear. The original retainer ring is intact and in very good shape. This is an awesome vintage speed part!
