Police: Man drove drunk at 118 mph - Rutland Herald
A Castleton man was arrested Monday night for allegedly driving nearly 70 miles over the posted speed limit with a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit. Vermont State Police said William A. Stuart, 34, was clocked driving a 2013 Kia Optima north on Route 7 in Dorset at 118 mph. A preliminary breath test administered at the scene showed a blood-alcohol level of 0. 24 percent, police said. The legal limit for driving in Vermont is 0. 08 percent. Taken to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing, Stuart refused subsequent DUI testing, police said. 21 for driving under the influence and refusing a DUI test, negligent operation, speeding and reckless endangerment.
