According to police, King was driving north in center of three lanes, and Cuevas was in the left lane when Cuevas veered into the center lane and sideswiped King's Honda, then struck a guardrail and crashed down an embankment, hitting trees. Cuevas and Collazo were taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital, respectively. As for the victims who survived, "Our firefighters and the medics from AMR worked together to provide exceptional emergency medical care to the victims and to rapidly extricate them from a very heavily damaged vehicle," he said.
