Nissan Issues Recall for 2009 GT-R and Infiniti Crossovers - Torque News

Nissan is recalling the steering columns on some of its higher-end, all-wheel drive models from 2009 after internal investigations found the issue and reported it to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall affects about 16,973 vehicles in the United States and repairs will be undertaken at Nissan dealerships free of charge for vehicle owners. The problem affects 2009 GT-R models made between March 14, 2007 and April 25, 2008 and the 2008 Infiniti EX35 and 2008-09 FX35 and FX45 crossovers. The fix is to replace the steering shaft on the crossovers and to replace the entire column on the GT-R. "Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering shaft on the Infiniti EX35, FX35, and FX45 vehicles, and will replace the steering column assembly on the Nissan GT-R vehicles, free of charge. Infiniti owners may contact customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan owners may contact the GT-R hotline at 1-866-668-1487. ". The notice of recall was issued yesterday by both the NHTSA and Nissan. Source: www.torquenews.com
