SKIDDING sideways at 120mph with steering kicking and tyres screaming, the Nissan Juke powers around Silverstone like a Formula One car. Yes, you read that right, the funky family hatchback Juke producing supercar performance. This is the most outrageous crossover ever built after Nissan combined their muscle car GT-R Nismo with the unique hatch – and this 200mph Juke-R 2. 0 was born. The end result is a mind-blowing 592bhp and 0-62mph in just 2. 9 seconds – making it more than half a second quicker than a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and the first-ever supercar crossover. The GT-R’s 3. 8 V6 feels almost too much for the Juke’s tiny frame and you feel like the chassis is wrestling to keep the engine from bursting out of the bonnet – yet it handles remarkably well. But, thanks to four-wheel drive, Nissan have got all that power down on the ground and it had no problem blasting round the curves of Silverstone’s Stowe mini circuit. The Juke-R is actually available to buy but you’d need to be a Duke to afford it at a wallet-shredding £400,000. So, you have to pay for the black sheep of the Nissan family – but it looks like nothing else on the road.
