My feelings were not unlike my reaction years ago when Porsche unveiled the Cayenne SUV. At the time I also wondered what they were smoking, because to me the name Porsche was synonymous with adrenalin-inducing sports cars. I believed a Porsche badge had no business adorning the hood of a four-door SUV. So a week ago, when Porsche contacted me to offer a test drive in its brand new Cayenne S E-Hybrid, naturally I was excited to try it out: It was a Porsche, and I was extremely curious to find out just what this whole electric business was all about. Pushing the car on the twisty road up to Broummana, not once did I feel the car lose its composure. it remained poised and inspired confidence, while the steering feel, exemplary compared to most other SUVs, let me feel fully connected to the road.
