The Original! Patent Pending Cat security™ Cat Shield
Our Prius generation 1 Cat Security™ Cat shield is made up of two shields. A front and a rear Shield.
These two shields together block access to the catalytic converter.
The front Shield "which is a heavy gauge 304 stainless steel" blocks one of the easiest places a thief can cut or unbolt this unit on the generation one Prius, while also being corrosion resistant like the rear aluminum shield.
The rear shield while offering your smog technician a window for viewing the catalytic converter for smog reasons, blocks out physical access to the converter, 02 sensor and assembly. We did not see it necessary to add a rear shield behind the secondary catalytic converter like we did on our generation three product. this reason is that they (a theif) will need to get through these shields before they could even cut the front of the assembly and if they can not cut the front then cutting the back does nothing. this is the same set up we have for our generation 2 shield, which is the number one selling product in the united states for Prius catalytic converter protection.
This also translates into cost savings which we pass onto to our customers.
